One-Day Programme

This is designed for experienced personnel with a minimum of 1 year continuous employment in CJS case or fieldwork and or  existing management personnel. A challenging unit for developing staff  beyond ‘worker’ grade status.

Level of this module  is to Management level II-

Establishing & implementing effective caseload systems, System reviews. Psychological toolkits in crime/ASB reduction. Effective time management. Priority Setting. Interviewing skills. What's New. Using data to determine strategies. Working to Budgets. Partnership working modes. Legislation

 

Group work. Role Play. Presentation.. Short Dissertation.

Two-Day Programme

A two-day programme intended for both experienced and new personnel. This unit  covers at a more in-depth level the subjects in the one-day programme. The unit is for staff development at & beyond the ‘worker’ grade status.

Level of this module  is to Management level II-

Core Modules

Monitoring & Evaluation. Managing your Budget. Staff & Client risk assessment. Jargon Busting. Legislation..

 

This programme is significantly client-led with modules added or omitted to meet the needs of participants.

Four-Day Programme

Designed for new staff [day 1] and from day 2 provides a comprehensive experience of youth and adolescence CR techniques. Builds over time a study portfolio for further advancement to the higher Management Grade I.

Core Modules

4 week Work based portfolio compilation & observation.. Caseload psychology, negotiating &interviewing skills. Effective Priority Setting strategies. Working in Partnerships. Exit Strategies. methods & implications. Risk-Assessments. Legal liabilities. Work-life balance. Monitoring & Evaluation techniques.

 

This programme is significantly client-led with modules added or omitted to meet the needs of participants.

FAQs’

Do all attendees attain an certificate?

No. The award of a certificate is dependant solely on your ability and performance on the programme. YORP checks all applicants details on registration and advice is provided regarding the suitability of the course and relevant module. This has meant we currently have an 87% success rate of all attendees.

Where does the training take place?

Training venues are decided on the geographic locality of the majority of participants. Other factors such as transportation links and disability access etc are also considerations.

I am  a newly employed staff ‘worker’ can I do the one-day module?

If you are newly employed but have previous experience in another job or in a voluntary capacity you may be able to attend the one-day course.

What is the highest Management certificate grade?

The Level III (3) is the highest level Management Certificate.
